Meet the counselor: Megan Bruckner

Headshot of Megan Bruckner, mental health counselor in Seattle, WA

Welcome! I’m Megan Bruckner, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) based in Seattle, WA. I serve adult individuals (ages 18+) in-person in Seattle, and virtually throughout Washington state.

My Purpose:

My purpose is to help others grow in self-understanding and self-compassion, lightening their experience of living.

My Therapeutic Style Is:

  • Integrative, focused on the mind-body connection: I draw from several evidence-based therapeutic models, tailoring them to meet the individual needs of each client and their goals. I often discuss the mind-body connection in therapy, especially how the nervous system may be interacting with or influencing your day-to-day experience. I love to help clients develop specific strategies that work with the body to reduce their symptoms.

  • Warm and relational: My priority for our sessions is to provide a space in which you feel comfortable to share whatever is on your mind. While it’s important to set and track towards specific goals, I like to do so in a relaxed manner. Sessions can be more freeform or more structured, depending on what works best for you. I do not often give homework, unless you think that would be beneficial for you.

  • Strengths-based and supportive: I am passionate about emphasizing my clients’ strengths, identifying the resources that are available to them, and supporting their innate knowledge of what’s right for their own lives. I love to share relevant books and other resources for those that want them.

  • Curious and non-judgmental: There are infinite ways of living and being, and my hope is that you find a way of life that brings you joy. I’m proud to be a LGBTQIA+ affirming, sex-positive, polyamory- and non-monogamy-affirming clinician for our vibrant Seattle community. I support health at every size (HAES).

  • Collaborative: I want the process of therapy (i.e., how and why we’re doing what we’re doing) to be clear to you. If you’re ever curious what therapy can look or feel like, or what’s next in your treatment, let me know!
